The Studio...
Swan7 was recently completed in mid-April of 2010. After having a studio in Manhattan for 10 years, I was attracted by all the activity and talent that's been migrating in to the 'East Williamsburg/Bushwick' area.
I've had the good fortune of working in a lot of great studios in NYC and around the world and wanted to build a studio that would be sonically on the level of some of the world's finest studios but accessible to just about anyone. A great deal of thought has gone into the design of the rooms to make them sound great and be comfortable to work in as well.
The D&R console is very flexible. Hand built late 80's, it's quiet, very warm and has a good deal of headroom, both on the mic pre's and the master buss. Augmented by a great selection of outboard gear and mic's, we can create as good a signal path from microphone to DAW as you would find anywhere. ...see Equipment
Our strengths lie in the fact that because we don't have the insane overhead that has landed most of the 'big' studios out of business, artists can achieve the same quality, while having the time to be creative.
